After you log in, in the home page, below your image and name, there is an "availability" option. When you click on that different options come - 'online' / 'offline' / 'idle' etc. You can select whichever. Depending on that the "availability" icon also changes - green / orange or some other. The 'green' light means 'online'. So, obviously it will be so when you are logged in.

Looks like you put some pornographic material/Pics/Videos on your profile.
Is that right ;).
You can continue to use gmail and gtalk, but not orkut with that ID.
You need to create a fresh orkut account. You cannot use the existing gmail id for that.

Take "settings". On the LHS, u can get the option, "Change Password". Follow that.

Dont worry, follow these steps to remove the message
To Remove:
1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the processes tab
2. Look for svchost.exe under the image name. There will be many but look for the ones which have your username under the username

7. Delete all the files here

11. Type "heap41a" here and press enter. You will get something like this "[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt"
12. Select that and Press DEL. It will ask "Are you sure you wanna delete this value", click Yes
13. Now close the registry editor.
Thats all, open the website and check it out

I think there is an option on your or the person you want to block's profile to block it.You can't block yours but you can do that to others.

When I login my orkut with username and password. After I am going to my friends list after I opening my friends profile. That time opening my friend page or window , but in that time same my friend page or same window opening no. of times like 50, 100 windows at time without my hand (some times I am checking my orkut site that time also). Other sites working good but Orkut only like this. I scaned my pc with antivirus no errors, and I am using "Mcfee Internet security". Why Orkut site no. of pages opening like poups? any bad bugs or hidden scripts or virus in orkut? How can I avoid that? some times pages are opening 150 also on by one without my hand like popups. plz help me...

Normally if someone's profile is "hacked" the "hacker" would disable your access to that profile.
So that would be one way to know.

Normally if someone's profile is "hacked" the "hacker" would disable your access to that profile.
So that would be one way to know.

To permanently delete your orkut profile, please follow these steps:
1.Click settings on the left sidebar of your profile.
2.On the general tab, click delete my orkut account.
3.You'll be taken to a page that gives further instructions and a link to delete my account. Clicking this link will re-direct you to the Delete orkut page of your Google Account.
4.Check the box confirming that you really want to delete your orkut profile from your Google Account.
5.Once you enter your password and click Remove orkut you will no longer be able to log into orkut.com, but your Google Account will remain active. Please do not try to log in to your orkut profile again for at least 24 hours.

he will be shown in your list only when he accepts your request. so be patient until he accepts the request. and if your frnd is unable to find his account then there must be some problem creating it. ask him to check it once.

How can one open orkut if blocked by university firewalls?(it has also blocked famous proxy sites)?
they have blocked top proxy sites. cant i geta permanent solution for that

You can use Hamachi together with FreeProxy to create a VPN connection to another computer you have available on another network, and you can change the proxy servers of IE to point to your local IP address of the other computer on the Hamachi network. You can use a non-used port such as 8082 just in case they block standard 8080. I do this to get around university firewalls. The thing is you need to have another computer available on another internet connection for this to work.

Just drop out of college and get a McJob and save everyone else a lot of pain.
